Missed-call follow-up

Why missed calls cost more than they look

Most front desks measure the calls they answered. The calls they missed are harder to see, which makes them easy to underestimate.

For an appointment-based clinic, a call can represent a new-patient visit, a treatment question, or a request that needs timely help. When the team is busy or the clinic is closed, many callers will not leave a useful voicemail.

Voicemail is not a complete follow-up system

A voicemail box does not reliably show who called, why the call mattered, or which request should be handled first. A better process captures the reason, makes unfinished work visible, and gives someone clear ownership of the next step.

Make every unfinished call visible

Your staff does not need to answer every call personally. They do need a clear record of who still needs help, why, and what should happen next.
